A.  Patient and Family Centered Care represents a profound change in the way health care is delivered. Doctors, nurses, patients, and their families become genuine partners in treatment, and patients’ and families’ opinions regarding medical care are heard and respected.

Q.  I’m not sure which union I would be in. How do I find out?
A. Once you’re hired, our Human Resources experts will explain all the details concerning Hurley Medical Center unions.

Q. Do I have a choice of health insurance plans?
A.  Yes. Hurley Medical Center offers four different health insurance plans: Blue Cross/Blue Shield PPO, Blue Cross/Blue Shield Traditional, Health Plus (HMO), and Blue Care Network (HMO).

Q.  Is dental and vision coverage offered?
A.   Yes. Hurley Medical Center offers a non-network, “no referral required” dental plan through Delta Dental, and vision coverage through MECA.

Q.   As a new hire, how long do I need to work before I’m covered?
A.   Eligible employees are covered as of the first month following their hire date if hired on or before the 20th day of the month. If hired after the 20th, they are covered as of the first day of the 2nd month following their hire date.

Q. Can I contribute to various funds through payroll deductions?
A.  Yes. The following contributions are available: Tax Deferred Annuities, Disability insurances, and Voluntary Life Insurance & Long Term Care insurance.

Q. What is Hurley Medical Center’s pension plan?
A.  Hurley offers a Defined Contribution Pension Plan with 4.5% Employer Contribution (some employees have the option of the Defined Benefit Plan).
