About Flint
The third largest city in Michigan with a population of 111,000, Flint, Michigan was founded in 1819 as a trading post. The birthplace of General Motors and the United Auto Workers, much of Flint’s growth can be credited to the development of the auto industry. The first car designed by Louis Chevrolet was produced here, with the help of Will Durant who formed General Motors.In recent years, Flint’s downtown area has developed into one of Michigan’s finest showcases, hosting a diverse business culture and highlighting a spectacular river walk.
