About Hurley

Widely regarded as one of the premier hospitals in the state of Michigan, Hurley Medical Center is a public 443-bed, non-profit teaching hospital in Flint, Michigan. Founded in 1908, we treat everyone who comes through our doors, regardless of ability to pay.

As the region’s only public hospital and the largest hospital in Genesee County, Hurley provides the majority of the area’s uncompensated health care, at an annual cost of over $55 million. Although it is legally owned by the City of Flint, Hurley receives no municipal tax revenues and is entirely self-supporting.

Delivering exceptional Patient and Family Centered Care to 20,000 inpatients a year and over 76,000 annual emergency cases, Hurley has the dedicated professionals, advanced technology, and state-of-the-art facilities to meet the complex health needs of our region.

Whether you’re working in the fast-paced, life-saving Neonatal Intensive Care Unity (NICU), Pediatric Intensive Care Unity (PICU), or Trauma Center, or performing health screenings at a neighborhood health education fair, Hurley is one of the most exciting places to work in the entire Midwest.
