As the safety-net provider for the Flint-Genesee County area, Hurley Medical Center is vitally important to the people of our community.

Not only do we treat every person who walks through our doors, we take health education to our community members where they live.

We routinely go outside our walls and into our surrounding neighborhoods, participating in health fairs, expos, and community fundraisers. Our doctors and nurses visit schools, places of worship, community groups, libraries, professional organizations, and assisted-living facilities. They talk to people about their health, but just as importantly, they conduct much-needed screenings which can identify potential problems or conditions.

We tackle obesity, diabetes, and asthma head-on with our Family Weight
Loss Program; healthy food demonstrations; diabetes programs for children, adults, and pregnant women; and Home-Based Asthma Disease Management Program.

Our genuine commitment to a healthy community is how we live out our mission of “Clinical Excellence. Service to People.”
